Which repairs should I do?
We want to keep your home in excellent condition and we'll carry out the majority of repairs that will keep it that way. However, we are not responsible for all elements of the home and so some repairs should be done by customers. Below is a list of those fixes that you can do yourself. - Blocked Sinks
- Carpets
- Cat flaps
- Chimney sweeping - unless you have solid fuel heating
- Cookers
- Decoration - internal
- Doorbells - unless you're in sheltered accommodation
- Electrical appliances and plugs
- Floor tiles/vinyl
- Garden - grass cutting, hedge trimming - unless it's part of a communal garden or assisted gardening scheme
- Garden sheds
- Greenhouses
- Keys (replacement)
- Laminate flooring - You'll need to get permission to lay laminate flooring and we're not responsible for your laminate flooring if we have to disturb it to carry out a repair
- Light bulbs including fluorescent tubes
- Pests and vermin - unless you're in sheltered accommodation
- Satellite dishes
- Shelves
- Soft furnishings
- Spin/tumble dryers - unless provided by us in communal areas
- Toilet seats
- Trip switches (resetting these due to a fault with your appliance)
- TV aerial
- Washing lines
- Washing machine
