Award Nomination for Alliance Living Care Team member
The Alliance Living Care Team are feeling proud because one of their team is up for the prestigious Care and Support West Rainbow Heart Award.
Team member, Michelle Bright, is shortlisted in this new category which was created to shine a light on the heartfelt and challenging work undertaken during the COVID-19 pandemic. Care and Support West want to make sure the sacrifice and commitment people have given is properly acknowledged.
Michelle was nominated because although she is currently the administrator for Alliance Living Care, she has given much more than her job title would imply. At the start of the pandemic, Michelle undertook an intensive training programme so that she could roll up her sleeves and help out her work colleagues. She effectively retrained as a carer in order to fill in any gaps in service by picking up uncovered care calls and working at Tamar Court when the team couldn't cover the night shifts.
Michelle looks after her two small children herself, but because her devotion to our vulnerable customers was so great, to protect our customers further she placed her children in the care of her parents. Only seeing her children remotely and through windows was a difficult and challenging time for Michelle. However, her courage and commitment meant that many elderly and isolated people within North Somerset would get the care and companionship they needed in a desperately lonely time.
The awards take place in October this year.
