Alliance Homes Increases Annual Donation to Local Foodbanks
In recognition of the cost-of-living crisis, social housing association Alliance Homes has decided to make a substantial increase in the annual amount of money it donates to local food banks.
A long-term supporter of these vital organisations, Alliance Homes will be giving £3,750 each to the food banks in Weston-super-Mare and in Clevedon. The decision to increase the donation this year was made because more people than ever need the help of these organisations.
The money will be used to provide food for those who need it most in the communities that Alliance Homes operates in. Additionally, Weston foodbank will be putting this money towards an electric vehicle that will be used to deliver food across their area.
Alliance Homes will also be supporting the Food Club, which operates from the Sub-Station on St Andrew’s Parade in Weston. The Food Club will receive a £1,000 donation towards a fridge that will enable the club to improve its service and create a community pantry.
Alliance Homes Chief Executive Louise Swain commented: “This year, the work that food banks do will be more important than ever. The help they give can make a massive difference to families in our region. We know that demand is going to be high, so we’ve taken the decision to donate £8,500 to these important organisations.”
