Support for employers
If you are a business, it's possible that one of your employees could be caring for someone outside of work who is ill, frail, or disabled. Statistics show that one in seven people have caring responsibilities in the UK, and we know that there are over 22,000 Carers in North Somerset. Carers are some of the most hard-working and dedicated people and we want to do what we can to support employers to maintain positive working environments for Carers.
We can offer advice on how you can support Carers in your workforce with our free resources; Carers Passport, procedures, and information leaflets. If you are interested in accessing these resources, you can on the 'related items' of this page.
You can also register your details with us, and we will issue you with a “Carer Aware” employer certificate, which will demonstrate your commitment to current and future employees who may have caring responsibilities at home. You will also receive newsletters containing information regarding our services and useful updates regarding Carers rights in the workplace.
