Highest regulatory grading awarded to Alliance Homes

This is the highest regulatory rating a housing association can achieve with a G1 for governance and V1 for financial viability.

The regrade comes 18 months after the first in-depth assessment where the organisation had been awarded a G2/V1 rating.

In the July 2018 review, the Regulator recommended that the organisation needed to improve some aspects of its governance arrangements to support continued compliance.

In the latest regulatory judgement, the RSH said: “The board has improved its approach to business planning and stress testing, which is now better aligned to its development ambition.” It also recognised improvements in the oversight of key risks, wider stress testing and increased understanding of care.

Louise Swain, Chief Executive said: “We’re really pleased to receive this regrade. It demonstrates the action we have taken and the commitment of our colleagues to deliver our ambitious plans.

Earlier this year we doubled our development programme and plan to build 2,000 new homes over the next 10 years. We’re in great shape to deliver on this and to continue to improve the services we provide for our customers.”

This regard supports the A1 grading given by credit risk agency Moody’s in 2018 in reflection of a strong risk management and financial profile, ranking the housing association as one of the country's highest rated housing associations.
